If you've ever tried to learn Latin before, then you've probably heard of Wheelock's.  This is probably the most commonly used textbook for teaching Latin.  And, don't get me wrong, it's a good one - thorough, easy to read, and even easier to reference.  Honestly, though, I feel like you could work through this entire book and never learn Latin - mostly because I've done so myself.

I'm still going to use it, though, because what is great for is a grammar reference.  Wheelock's is a really easy read, so when we reach weird grammar in Lingua Latina, Wheelock's is a great fall-back to make sure we really understand what's going on.  The grammar tables in the back are also a really useful reference.

At the end of most of my posts, there will be a green box where I link to relevant chapters of Wheelock's and other resources.  Those links will give you individual chapters, but I really think it's best to go ahead and get the whole book.  It won't be difficult to get your hands on a physical copy of this book, and if you're really serious about learning Latin, I think you should definitely get yourself a copy.

I work from the 6th edition, because that's the edition that I own, but there's already a new version out that you can pick up from a number of sources for rather cheap.  There are always plenty of used copies available as well, if you want to save a few bucks.
